Our sodium selenite is a highly pure, pharmaceutical-grade compound. Sodium selenite is incorporated directly into selenoproteins, which are special proteins regulated through selenium metabolism, preventing it from accumulating in the body. In contrast, the incorporation of organic selenium into proteins is not regulated, which can lead to very high selenium levels if intake is consistent. Taken as recommended, sodium selenite is a very safe form of selenium.

Our zinc bisglycinate is an organic zinc chelate in which the zinc is bound to L-glycine, an amino acid. Current research shows that zinc bisglycinate has the highest bioavailability of all forms of zinc. We have included zinc bisglycinate here in the form of an ultra-pure active ingredient from Germany.

Our vitamin B6 supplies the directly bioactive coenzyme of vitamin B6, pyridoxal 5′-phosphate. This form of B6 does not require any conversion by the body to be active in its countless enzymatic reactions.

Our vitamin C, derived from non-GMO maize, is highly concentrated (99.9%+ pure) and does not contain any maize after manufacturing.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.

Effects

Zinc

This essential trace element plays a crucial role in maintaining the immune system and contributes to metabolism, fertility, cell division and DNA synthesis as well as keeping eyes, hair and nails healthy.

Selenium

This essential trace element is a component of more than 25 enzymes involved in a variety of important reactions in the body. Selenium is important for maintaining normal functioning of the immune system, protecting cells from oxidative stress and maintaining thyroid function, fertility and hair and nails. Sodium selenite exhibits a somewhat lower absorption rate than organic selenium compounds but makes up for this with its very high bioactivity. The selenium in sodium selenite is directly and exclusively available for the formation of selenoproteins; it is not incorporated into any other proteins, which means that sodium selenite is regulated through selenium metabolism, ensuring that excess selenium is immediately excreted to prevent it from accumulating in the body.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is the precursor of the active coenzyme pyridoxal phosphate (also known as pyridoxal 5′-phosphate, P5P and PLP), one of the most important coenzymes for humans. Vitamin B6 is important for the synthesis of the amino acid cysteine and contributes to normal homocysteine, glycogen and protein metabolism as well as the normal functioning of the immune system. Vitamin B6 is also important for the nervous system and energy metabolism.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C protects cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal cognitive function, normal energy metabolism, normal functioning of the immune and nervous systems and normal collagen production for normal functioning of bones, teeth and skin.

Dosage

Directions

Take 1 capsule (100µg selenium, 15mg zinc, 25mg vitamin B6, 100mg vitamin C) with 200ml water daily.

Contraindications

Not suitable for children under the age of 7.

Daily Requirements

According to EFSA, the daily requirements for these four nutrients are: 10mg zinc, 55µg selenium, 80mg vitamin C and 1.4mg vitamin B6.

Food Supplement

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children. Not suitable for children under the age of 7.
