VEGAN VITAMIN D3

Vitamin D3 is naturally found almost exclusively in animal sources. Plants, on the other hand, contain very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D3. Conventional vitamin D3 active ingredients are therefore obtained from animal raw materials, usually from sheep's wool. After years of research, we have now found a purely plant-based source of vitamin D3 so that we can offer all our vitamin D3 products with a vegan vitamin D3 active ingredient.

All of our vitamin D3 oils contain a high-quality premium vitamin D3 as the active ingredient, which has been specially produced for us without any hidden additives - only with MCT oil from coconuts and natural vitamin E. The active ingredient is characterised by its purity and guaranteed vitamin D3 content. Vitamin D3 active ingredients often contain a whole range of additives, some of which do not have to be declared, such as synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils and maltodextrin. Our vitamin D3 is particularly pure due to the elaborate special production according to our specifications. It is produced for us by a specialised manufacturer in a controlled process and is completely free from the usual hidden additives.

Sunday Natural's vitamin D drops therefore really only contain two ingredients: Vitamin D3 and MCT.

MCT CARRIER OIL FOR OPTIMAL PROTECTION AND BETTER ABSORPTION

Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin and can only be absorbed by the body together with fats. For our vitamin D3 drops, a particularly high-quality MCT oil produced in the Netherlands based on coconut oil as the carrier oil is used. In contrast to other carrier oils or tablet press agents, MCT oil hardly breaks down the fat-soluble vitamins, making it the best option for optimum active ingredient protection, with the medium-chain fatty acids of the carrier oil themselves also serving as a valuable nutrient.

While capsules and tablets first have to dissolve in the body to release the active ingredient, vitamin D3 from oil is immediately bioavailable in the mouth and can therefore be optimally absorbed. Oils are also particularly convenient to use and suitable for people who have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets. All our oils come with high-quality glass pipettes, which make it particularly easy to dispense the exact amount in drops. In contrast to dropper bottles, which are often difficult to handle and tend to smudge, glass pipettes are convenient and clean to use.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D3 occurs in nature almost exclusively in animal sources and particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi contain only very small amounts of the much less effective vitamin D2.

Vitamin D plays a very important role. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone.

In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.

Vitamin D and vitamin K2 are cofactors in the regulation of calcium metabolism.Together, the two vitamins control the formation and breakdown of bone cells and important transport molecules that ensure the correct utilisation of calcium. Sunday Natural Vitamin D3 and K2 MK7 combines the two nutrients in a ratio that ensures optimal synergy.

Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

It is believed that only the trans forms can be utilised by the body.

Daily Requirements

Vitamin D

The National Health Service (NHS) recommends a daily intake of 10μg of vitamin D for those 1 year of age and older, inclusive of those pregnant, breastfeeding and at risk of vitamin D deficiency. The NHS recommends a daily intake of 8.5-10μg of vitamin D for babies up to the age of 1 year. However, it is important to note that individual vitamin D needs may vary according to geographic location (sun exposure), dietary habits, genetics and other factors.

Vitamin K2

The National Health Service (NHS) does not currently have any published recommendations regarding daily intake of vitamin K.

Food Supplement

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements cannot replace a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Note: Not suitable for children under 7 years of age. Keep out of reach of children.
