Both our wheatgrass and barley grass come from certified organic cultivation in Utah, USA. There, the green shoots begin to sprout in spring and early autumn, and are harvested in the early hours of the morning at the very peak of their nutritional potential, at a growth height of approximately 5-8cm, and shortly before their first stalks are formed.
Directly after harvest, the grass is cold pressed. It then undergoes a CO2 drying process at temperatures below 2°C. This process helps preserve the full range of enzymes, vitamins, chlorophyll and other valuable ingredients as much as possible.
On average, 30kg of barley grass corresponds to 1kg of highly concentrated barley grass juice powder.
For the production of our barley grass powder, we do not use spray drying, which damages plant cells and can cause precious enzymes and nutrients to oxidise and denature. Instead, we use a gentle CO2 drying process at temperatures below 2°C. This process is informed by 5 years of research on the subject, and is the only way to guarantee the high enzyme and nutrient content of our grass powders. In addition, we completely avoid the use of unnecessary fillers such as maltodextrin.
