Isolating the enzyme nattokinase from its most natural source, the traditional Japanese "nattō" (fermented soybeans), is a labourious process. We have therefore opted for a related production process: our nattokinase with 60,000 FU per gram is sourced from one of the world's leading producers and derived 100% from the natural fermentation of non-GMO soybeans by nattokinase-producing bacteria. The final product is completely soya-free.
We decidedly distance ourselves from lower qualities on the market which use either GMO soybeans or rely of the byproduct of shrimp production including the shrimp shell as a medium for the bacteria. As a result, many low-grade nattokinase products on the market are not vegan.
Since the enzymes require a source of carbohydrates from both stability and bioactivity, nattokinase cannot be produced without maltodextrin; however, since this substance is not required on food labels, it is often not listed as an ingredient in nattokinase products. In line with our True Clean Label® philosophy, we guarantee the full disclosure of all ingredients on our label. With our high-dose 60,000 FU per gram nattokinase, we have achieved the lowest maltodextrin concentration per capsule in nattokinase products worldwide: under 20%. Moreover, we do not use maltodextrin sourced from maize like many of our competitors, but rather from non-GMO manioc root (tapioca).
Our product is completely cleansed of vitamin K.
The only additional ingredient is premium gum arabic from pesticide-free cultivation, used as a natural bulking agent. In contrast to conventional synthetic fillers such as microcrystalline cellulose, which is mixed with nano-particles, we use a natural, fibre-rich foodstuff. Our gum arabic comes from climate-neutral, sustainable, resource-conserving, fair cultivation.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
