Magnesium Complex
Magnesium Taurate
Magnesium taurate is an organic compound of magnesium and the amino acid taurine. Taurine is highly present in muscle tissue, the brain and eye tissue. Magnesium taurate contributes specifically to reducing tiredness and fatigue, maintaining normal energy metabolism, supporting normal muscle and nerve function and promoting normal psychological function.
Magnesium Citrate
There are two types of magnesium citrate, which contain either approximately 7% or 15% magnesium. The trimagnesium dicitrate we use has a high active ingredient content (15%) and is characterised by high bioavailability and absorption rates. Magnesium citrate is base-forming, contributes to energy metabolism, healthy muscles, electrolyte balance and protein synthesis.
Magnesium Malate
Magnesium malate is a salt of malic acid and contributes to normal energy metabolism, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal functioning of the nervous system.
Magnesium Oxide
Magnesium oxide is characterised by a uniquely high magnesium content (57%). As magnesium is only bound to a single oxide atom, the typical 5-10% pure magnesium content is exceeded, which is why only one capsule can provide such a high dose of magnesium.
The chemical reaction between magnesium oxide and the hydrochloric acid present in the stomach produces magnesium chloride and water. High-dose magnesium oxide neutralises gastric acids, meaning it is not suitable for individuals with low stomach acid levels.
According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):
Magnesium contributes to:
- A reduction of tiredness and fatigue
- Electrolyte balance
- Normal energy-yielding metabolism
- Normal functioning of the nervous system
- Normal muscle function
- Normal protein synthesis
- Normal psychological function
- The maintenance of normal bones
- The maintenance of normal teeth
