How are we different?

Our Folate Complex Ultra is inspired by our desire to provide a sufficient supply of folate that is in a suitable form for all metabolic types. The generic folate used in many supplements is an artificial, synthetic substance which cannot be found in nature and cannot be directly utilised by the body.

We combine three premium folate forms in our unique Folate Complex Ultra: the two bioactive, patented L-methylfolates, glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®) and highly bioavailable calcium salt (Magnafolate® Pro), each containing 99.9% pure L-methylfolate with readily absorbable L-5-MTHF; and lemon peel extract, which naturally provides a full spectrum of folate.

In addition to synthetic forms of folic acid, folate products on the market are almost exclusively composed of L-methylfolate (L-5-MTHF) compounds in which L-5-MTHF has been bonded to glucosamine or calcium salts. Each person metabolises these forms differently, but many do not know which form of folate is best suited for them. Our folate complex therefore offers a broad spectrum of bioactive folates so that all body types can absorb a sufficient quantity of folate.

Lozenges provide the advantage that the vitamin B12 can be absorbed directly through the mucous membrane of the mouth. As a result, potential digestive difficulties in the intestines can be avoided and the bioavailability of the B12 is increased. The B12 consequently enters the bloodstream directly and does not need to pass through the intestines or liver.

Our lozenges contain guar gum powder with no artificial colours, flavours, animal products such as gelatine or additives such as magnesium stearate.

Effects

Vitamin B9: Folate (Folic Acid)

Folate (vitamin B9) is involved in a number of important bodily functions, such as fulfiling numerous important tasks in cell metabolism, contributing to a functioning energy metabolism, reducing fatigue and tiredness and supporting the immune system and mental functions. It is also required for haematopoiesis, cell division, homocysteine metabolism, the formation of amino acids, the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy and all cell division processes.

L-Methylfolate in Folate Complex Ultra

The biologically active form of folate is called L-methylfolate (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate or L-5-MTHF). L-methylfolate is an important methyl donor and an essential component of the methylation cycle.

The two L-methylfolate premium active ingredients (Magnafolate® Pro and Quatrefolic®) combined with the natural active folate forms from organic lemon peel provide the full range of all natural active ingredients. Magnafolate® Pro and Quatrefolic® are each metabolised in slightly different ways; the form that is better absorbed varies from person to person. The high-quality components of our Folate Complex Ultra ensure that the body is supplied with sufficient folate in the ideal form in every case.

Dosage

Directions

Allow 1 tablet (800µg folic acid) to dissolve in your mouth, followed by drinking a glass of water, daily.

Daily Requirements

The National Health Service (NHS) recommends a daily intake of 200μg of vitamin B9 (folate). For those pregnant or trying to become pregnant, daily intake should be increased to 400μg through the 12th week of pregnancy. However, it is important to note that individual vitamin B9 needs may vary according to age, dietary habits, genetics and other factors.
